What are hormones?

These are chemical messengers the brain uses to send signals to other organs and glands in the body to perform different functions.

Human actions, either voluntary or involuntary, normally trigger these hormones and for real, they act to ensure that things go well in the body systems. None of the hormones in one’s body do act without any call for action from the brain. Thus if we now have the concentration of these hormones either in higher or lesser quantity in a particular spot for a particular action for a period of time, then it leads to hormonal imbalance.

These hormones also work according to age as we grow. It’s not expected of a 5 years old girl to be producing estrogen or progesterone as both are meant for growth and reproductive organs respectively. Thus, any attempt for us to have any girl of such a age having breast or already menstruating, it’s also an hormonal imbalance.

Slight imbalance in hormonal level in human being can always cause a very big problem that they won’t be able to handle.

 GENERAL EFFECT OF HORMONAL IMBALANCE

1.     If growth hormone in human seems to be so much secreted when it’s suppose to be supplying the bone tissues little by little, I guess that person should be expecting a very tall boy and vice versa.

2.     Gynecomastia (enlarged breasts): This condition occurs when testosterone levels drop while estrogen levels remain high. This imbalance can trigger breast tissue growth in men.

3.     Menopause In women occur when the hormone working on her ovaries have slowed down or stopped working for the ovaries to perform monthly menstrual cycle.

4.     In women, imbalance hormonal level can also lead to Mood swing and total depression (During pregnancy). And can also cause over excitement, which could lead to higher sex requisition from male counterpart.

5.     Andropause  : Is like menopause in men, but, this occurs when testosterone level in men reduced which leads to reduction in sexual urge in men (Erectile dysfunction).

6.     Memory Loss

HORMONAL IMBALANCE AND AGE

These hormonal imbalance have effect on virtually all human being on earth but its effects are much at some stages and age than the other. The older one becomes, the more vulnerable one gets and it is always good to have prevented any symptoms that show face earlier because when it gets so bad, it might not be controllable.

Many more women are having hormonal symptoms earlier, which has a lot to do with not only our lifestyle and diet, but also the pollution, toxins and xenoestrogens (synthetic chemicals that act as estrogen in our bodies) that we're exposed to every day.

1.     Age 0-10 ---- Normal hormones that control anger, love, affection, growth, digestion etc would be at work. Any child that has imbalance at this stage would surely have serious problem growing up, but if the symptoms showed up early, it could be corrected.

2.     Age 10-30 --- Here reproductive hormones would have been sets in and sexual characters would be included in the kind of character one is showing. Imbalance status that has been showing symptoms could easily be corrected earlier.

3.     Age 30-40 --- Here all the hormones working for sexual drives in human being begins to reduce its work and those with higher quantity at this stage are always hyper active sexually.(imbalance). Menopaune and Andropause would set in.

4.     Age 40 and above --- Always must encounter some form of hormonal imbalance, because some of the hormones secretion would have been going down while some would still remain active thus, hormonal imbalance would set in. Though some people have a very good body and they escape this stage of life, stay healthy till they pass on.

      HORMONAL IMBALANCES AND SEXUAL ACTIVENESS 

      One of the most noticeable symptoms of hormonal imbalance is low libido, which starts with disturbed sleep. Without quality sleep our sex hormone production can diminish. Thus if one is not sexually active, definitely he/she wont be having a very good sleep thus leads to LOW LIBIDO.

      HORMONAL IMBALANCE AND ITS RELATION TO BELLY FATS AND LOSS OF MUSCLE MASS

     When your endocrine system is under stress there's an underproduction of certain hormones and an overproduction of others (mainly cortisol). This makes your body store fat for future use, making an increase in belly fat a clue to adrenal fatigue.

TREATMENT OF HORMONAL IMBALANCE

1.     Use of HRT – Hormone Replacement Therapy but its reported that if the level of imbalance is not well defined and accurately determined, one risk having breast cancer, heart disease, stroke, blood clot etc

2.     BIHRT- Bio-Identical Replacement Therapy: here, they evaluate the level of deficit or surplus of the hormones to inject the actual hormone required to make things balance.

      Also, eating good meal and supplements can help to stop the hormonal imbalances, provided you had gone for the tests and you have discovered the level of hormones you have in your system.
